May 6: Valley View’s Spring Fling!                                                         12-4pm. Come one, come all! We’ll have games, prizes, music, food, raffle, silent auction, cotton candy, face painting, Queen’s Treasure, Wonderland Tea, Mustang Flush and more!! All proceeds go to support programs and education materials at Valley View Elementary School. Valley View Elementary School, 3416 Maywood Dr., Richmond/El Sobrante. 


May 6 & 7: 9th annual El Cerrito Hillside Festival 

Free. The festival features walks and informative hikes about the geology, flora and fauna in the 100-acre Hillside Natural Area, a nature scavenger hunt for young people, a senior stroll, poetry by the winners of the Hillside haiku contest, art projects for kids, how-to use nature apps, and more! Hikes range from easy to strenuous. Sponsored by El Cerrito Trail Trekkers and El Cerrito’s Environmental Quality Committee. See the full schedule and map at


May 7: Friends of the Pinole Library Stuff a Sack Sale

10am- 2pm. Buy a double strength bag for $5 at the door and fill it to the brim with books! This fundraising event supports the Pinole Library throughout the year. Pinole Library, 2935 Pinole Valley Rd. 510-758-2741.


May 8: El Cerrito Art Association Meeting

6:30pm-8:30pm. Program featuring a watercolor demonstration by artist David Savellano following brief business meeting. 

El Cerrito Community Center Garden Room, 7007 Moeser Ln, 

El Cerrito. Free and open to public.




9am-3pm. Succulents, Edibles, Natives, Flowers. Two locations: 1315 Santa Clara St Richmond (off of Carlson, between Mariposa and Merced) 1519 Arlington Blvd. El Cerrito (near Madera): Cash or checks only.
