May 6: Valley View’s Spring Fling! 12-4pm. Come one, come all! We’ll have games, prizes, music, food, raffle, silent auction, cotton candy, face painting, Queen’s Treasure, Wonderland Tea, Mustang Flush and more!! May 6 & 7: 9th annual El Cerrito Hillside Festival
Free. The festival features walks and informative hikes about the geology, flora and fauna in the 100-acre Hillside Natural Area, a nature scavenger hunt for young people, a senior stroll, poetry by the winners of the Hillside haiku contest, art projects for kids, how-to use nature apps, and more! May 7: Friends of the Pinole Library Stuff a Sack Sale
10am- 2pm. Buy a double strength bag for $5 at the door and fill it to the brim with books! This fundraising event supports the Pinole Library throughout the year. Pinole Library, 2935 Pinole Valley Rd. 510-758-2741.
